Date Note:Although this series was created between approximately 1800 and 1900, the records document claims for bounty-lands based on mililtary service that occured between 1790 and 1855, mostly in the War of 1812, Indian wars, and Mexican War. Congress did not authorize bounty-land for service after 1855, however a bounty-land warrant application file may contain documentation submitted after 1855.
