| Use Restriction(s): | Restricted - Possibly Majority of the images (roughly 60%) were taken by State photographers or other U.S. government agency camerapeople, and are thus in the public domain. Remaining images, deriving from assorted commercial, foreign government, or international government (e.g., United Nations) sources, were acquired by State only for State use, and may still be under copyright protection or may carry other rights claims made by the respective producers. For any of these items, researchers are responsible for investigating rights status, for obtaining whatever reproduction permission might be necessary, and for paying any permission fees that might be required. Originating photo-source is usually indicated on the print mount, and on the corresponding index card and shelflist card. |
