Arrangement:Arranged into six subseries: World War II Operations Reports, Combat Interviews, Miscellaneous Lists (M. L.), Order of Battle, Pre-Invasion Planning, and Special Files. The main subseries, World War II Operations Reports, is arranged according to an alphanumeric system based on military hierarchy. The Combat Interviews subseries is arranged numerically by combat unit interview number. The M. L. subseries is arranged numerically by ML number from 7 through 2280, with gaps. The Order of Battle subseries is arranged by type of unit and thereunder numerically by unit designation. The Pre-Invasion Planning subseries is arranged numerically from 1 through 735. The Special Files subseries is arranged according to a subject numeric filing scheme that corresponds to categories of reports or records, thereunder by the individual document designation and year of issue.
