Function and Use:
The Eastern Region of the Forest Service maintained these photographs as a historical record of the agency's activities in the management and protection of national forests and grasslands for multiple purposes, including recreation, conservation and protection of wildlife, forest-based economic development, and the protection of cultural and heritage resources. The images were used in publications, presentations, and studies to demonstrate the value of resource management.
